Bird box
condition: New - recycled wood

This handmade bird box is built from approximately 20mm of thick wood. Unlike most of the thinner, less durable boxes on the market, this bird box will last for many seasons.
To help the environment the wood is recycled from various places - obtained from building sites and skips. The wood is cleaned and then treated with an environmentally friendly wood preservative. This is applied to the outside of the wood after the bird box had been built.

This type of bird box design has been used successfully for many years helping the birds and chicks to survive in a world where predators are ready to have a succulent meal.

The bird box is supplied with a set of mounting plates and screws for mounting the box to a tree, fence or wall.

The size of the entrance size hole is 32mm, which is perfect for small garden birds such as Great Tits, Coal Tits, Blue Tits and Wood Sparrows.

Please note: the size may vary slightly. Also the colour and type of wood may be different depending what had been sourced.

  • And now a bit about packaging


If it is possible we will use packaging that has been sourced, either from our own packaging or from other establishment. Where this isn't possible we will source from a recycling company.

In respect of packing tape, where it is more difficult to buy recycled, we will do our best to minimise the amount we use without jeopardising the contents.

Apart from a passion working with aerials, cables, electrical equipment and electronics for the past 40 years my other passion wood. Making all sorts of items from jigsaws to large wooden ships (For children) Wood is a valuable resource and when it's not a tree the next best option is to make things out of it.
