DESCRIPTION: Here is a early to mid 19th century tea cup and saucer which i have attributed to Samuel Alcock. Decorated with green bands having white and gilt oak leaves and moulded gilt leaf scrolls and dotted patter. Below is a wavy pink and gilt band with a gilt flower pattern below. The cup has a French loop shaped handle with a moulded oak leaf to the top of the handle next to the top rim. The cup and saucer is marked to the base with a red painted pattern number 1939 and dates between 1825 to 1830.

SIZE: The tea cup measures 2 5/8 inches to the top of the handle and 4 inches in diameter. The saucer measures 5 7/8 inches in diameter. Weighs 282 g before packing.

CONDITION: The tea cup has a 1.5 cm tight hairline running down from the top rim which is hardly noticeable on the inside and has a half ring when tapped and not totally a dead ring. The saucer has a glaze star crack (not a hairline) which does not show to the top. It has minor ware to the central gilt band and rings well when tapped.
