Handsome Strad pattern 4/4 violin. Previous owner said this was made by a maker in the Baltimore area, though the label simply indicates it is a copy of a Strad. The woods and workmanship appear consistent with a American origin. The back is of lovely quilted maple, the top with fine grain spruce, ebony fittings, and the finish is of a rich soft golden hue. Body length is 14" (357mm) and the string sounding length is 13" (330mm). Plays well and sounds great! Includes a probably 70's vintage shaped hard-shell case. It was used extensively for Celtic music jam sessions (a ceilidh), and consistently provided a very good accounting of itself in tone and volume. (vn1_20)
