Vintage c1970s original Outsider Art oil painting from the collection of Massachusetts Outsider Artist Leon Weeks (1920-2001). Unsigned but known to be by this artist. Depicts an eye catching Outsider portrait of an androgynous figure holding a cloth or garment, seated on a bench. Medium is oil on linen done in a Modernist/Outsider Art style. Linen affixed to stretcher bars with nails as opposed to staples. Well done with smooth brushstrokes, good blending of paint and capture of depth and shadow.
In Very Good overall condition. Exhibits only gentle signs of handling. No holes, rips or tears. Displays tremendously!
