How to Become a Magician for Fun and Profit by Walter B. Graham Published in 1967 by Modern Litho, Omaha, Nebraska 92 page softcover book. This book combines a little history of magic, an overview of the field of magic, some magic secrets, and publicity and promotion ideas and examples. The author begins with a five page concise overview of the history of magic mentioning the big names of Houdini, Thurston, etc. He then describes different aspects of magic as a hobby. In between advice about performing, he reproduces some tricks from the SEVEN CIRCLES magazine published in the 1930s. The final 1/4 or more of the book is devoted to publicity and business practice ideas with many reproductions of the author's own publicity materials. While you may find that some of the material is dated (1967) most of it is still valid today. CONDITION: This is a new copy. We purchased the last remaining supply of new copies direct from the successor to the publisher.
