Jacob “Izzy” Rabinowitz was a partner with his brothers in Feivel Rabinowitz and Sons, a successful textile firm  founded in the late 19th century in Bielitz (Bielsko), a city in Southwestern Poland. With the advent of WWII, Jacob and his family are intercepted when trying to flee and  are transported to Kazakhstan. With cleverness and luck, they survive the hardships; after the war, they work their way through more difficulties, with the ambition to go to Palestine.They reach their goal in time to see the birth of the State of Israel.
