Dark blue cloth covered boards; blind-stamped seal with motto "The Cause Shall Not Fail" on front panel. Gilt lettering on spine. Back panel has light irregular scuff of approx. 2 1/4" by 1 1/2". Shadow transfers from dust jacket on end-papers. Original dust jacket, professionally repaired and reinforced at spine and back panel. Front and back jacket panels are soiled, spine is sunned. The book captures a speech given at Milton Academy on May 18, 1926. It was the first publication for the future President of the United States. Previous owners affixed first day cover stamp to the title page. Printing limited to 1000 copies. Text pages are age-toned, else book is internally clean. Text block is sound.
