From an Album belonging to ‘Elise’ (Elisabeth Maria Adriana de Vois / Voys (1853-1919), daughter of Elisabeth Maria Theodora de Vois / Voys (1830- ) and Adrianus Hermanus Petrus Eleonardus Sterck (c.1824-1859), a Dutch merchant and aristocrat.

At bottom right 'Door J.F.M. Sterck' and a monogram plus date 1876.  Made by (Jan) J.F.M. Sterck (1859- ), the brother of Elise. Jan was at the Rolduc seminary until 1877 and probably influenced by his art teacher Adrianus Slits. He later became a reknown 'Vondel' expert and succeeded J.Alberdinck Thijm  in his printing co.

Condition: Very good, given age. Some light foxing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
