The original and still the best, highest
quality Volvo pump harness on the market! Now updated with unique wiring colors
for each wire to help those using pump controllers keep the wiring straight. Watch
out for other companies selling harnesses made from cheap wire and cheaper
aftermarket connectors! Those cut-rate pigtail kits usually don't use the
correct wire terminals, include all the seals, or use wire as thick as the
factory wire.
This is a wire harness for the Volvo electric
power steering pumps used in various 2005-2013 Volvo cars. This harness uses
factory connectors sourced from the factory supplier. The wire is
automotive-grade GXL insulated wire rated for under hood use. The harness comes
with 10 feet of wire. All wire connections are crimped. All our products are
assembled by hand in the United States. All crimps are verified to meet USCAR
standards for tensile strength. Note that some 2011-2013 Volvo models use a
different pump that requires different connectors.
The main power connector has 10 feet of
8-gauge, red and black wire to match the factory wiring used on Volvo's wiring
harness (part number 30775461).
The smaller data connector comes with:
- 10 feet of gray 18-gauge wire with a yellow
stripe for switched power
- 10 feet of gray 18-gauge wire with a red
stripe and 10 feet of blue 18-gauge wire with a red stripe for the CAN BUS
wires.
These colors match the factory connector I
have on hand.
Custom harnesses (length, wire color) can be

This kit can be used to replace damaged wiring
in factory Volvo cars. It may also fit some European Fords of a similar era,
but I don't have definitive data to say which. Please check out the picture
of the Type 1 vs. Type 2 connectors on the pump to make sure this one will fit.
There are two versions of the main power connector. This is the one with
alignment tabs. If yours is smooth, this will not fit.

This kit can also be used to install a Volvo
electric power steering pump in hot rods, customs, or other performance
vehicles. The Volvo electric power steering pump is a popular swap part for the
performance minded car enthusiast. With this kit you aren't limited to cutting
up and splicing junkyard wire looms or buying the factory replacement loom
(which only includes the power connector).

electric car, and Grassroots Motorsports forums if you Google it, but eBay
won't let me put links here.
The pump pictured is for illustrative purposes
only. Please note that this is a universal kit for the Volvo pump using
factory-sized wiring. It is assumed that the purchaser and installer are
familiar with automotive wiring and will follow standard industry practices.
This pump will run with just switched power to
the grey/yellow wire. There are many companies that now offer CAN BUS
controllers to let you adjust the pump output.

If you are looking at electric power steering
pumps and the Volvo pumps won't fit or aren't available, check out the Mazda,
Nissan, and Mopar pumps. These pumps require a controller but are often cheaper
and more available. The Mopar and Nissan pumps are also horizontal so they can
often fit in areas the vertical Volvo and Mazda pumps will not. We sell
