How To Use :
Before You Color:
1. Lightening Preview Test: Do a lightening preview test to determine the approximate timing required to reach the desired degree of lightness and to confirm that your hair is in the right condition to use Glam Lights. This is particularly important if your hair has been previously colored. Here’s how to perform this simple test.
2. Snip a strand of hair 1/4-inch wide from center back of head, where hair is darkest, and tape one end.
3. Wear gloves provided in kit.
4. Prepare a small amount of lightening mixture as follows: Using a plastic spoon and a small plastic or glass container, add 1/2 teaspoon of Lifting Powder (2) to 2 teaspoons of Developer Crème (1). Stir lightly. Now add 1/2 teaspoon of Lifting Crème (3). Mix thoroughly until a rich cream forms.
5. Now Do a Strand Test: Select a strand of hair and apply mixture to it. Let develop between 25-45 minutes depending on your desired lightness. To check the lightness, clean a small piece of hair using gloved fingers. If not lightened enough, re-apply and leave on for 5 more minutes. Continue to check every 5 minutes until desired lightness is achieved, not exceeding 45 minutes. The time required to achieve the necessary degree of lightness will be your time-guide when lightening. To complete the strand test, rinse the strand of hair thoroughly and dry.
Step-by Step Application Guide for Les Blondissimes at Home.
The Preparation:
Step 1. Be sure your hair is dry, unshampooed and detangled.
Step 2. Put on Colorist gloves. Drape towel over shoulders to protect clothing and skin.
Step 3. Twist off applicator cap tip of Developer Crème (1) and then remove and put to the side
Step 4. Shake Lifting Powder packette (2) to loosen contents.
Step 5. Cut off corner of packette at dotted line and carefully pour entire contents of packette into developer bottle (1). Be sure the packette opening is completely inside neck of bottle. Keep packette away from eyes and face.
Step 6. Screw the flat cap onto the developer bottle (1). Point bottle away from face and shake well.
Step 7. Remove flat cap. Pierce opening of the Lifting Crème tube (3) and squeeze entire contents into bottle (1). Replace the flat cap on bottle (1). Point bottle away from face and shake vigorously until mixture becomes rich and creamy.
Step 8. Immediately remove flat cap once bleach mixture is smooth and creamy. Discard flat cap in the trash and replace with the applicator cap.
Note: Always shake bottle with the flat cap on for optimal mixing results. Never leave flat cap on after mixing is complete. The container may burst.
Application:
Step 1: Part your hair the way you typically style every day and bring hair in front of shoulders in two separate parts.
Step 2: Saturate all three sections of the Expert Highlights Brush with product. It is essential to always keep the brush vertical so the three prongs follow the natural direction of your hair.
Step 3: Beginning with the bottom half of your hair, start ¼ inch away from roots, hold the brush in a vertical position and apply the product, pressing very gently at roots. Continue to run the brush through your hair and add more pressure towards the lengths and ends to fully saturate them.
*To avoid patchiness always apply lightly at the roots.
Step 4: Reload brush with product and continue applying highlights around the rest of your head. Always apply gently on the roots with more pressure on the lengths and ends. Always apply product with brush held vertically.
Step 5: Ensure that product is applied thoroughly, paying close attention to the lengths and ends. If you still have areas without product, do not hesitate to apply on desired areas.
Step 6: Using lightening preview test as a guide, let develop between 25-45 minutes, depending on your desired lightness.
Step 7: When time is up, keeping gloves on, thoroughly rinse product from hair using warm water. Apply the luminous conditioning shampoo, rinse thoroughly and follow with your own conditioner.
