Girls Hakoseko Wallet Brocade Kimono Accessory for Formal Ceremonies
A Hakoseko is a wallet-like accessory for girls in kimono, especially for those who turn three, five and seven years old at the time of the Shichi-go-san festival. They are often used to carry Kaishi paper, a comb, mirror or a Kanazashi hair ornament.
This one measures 4” X 2½” (10X6cm) and includes the following features: A closure ring with charm, an internal flap pocket and mirror and a metal Kanazashi with matching case and tassel - one of the 8 hanging chains on the kanzashi is partially missing.
This was made in the 1960s - 1970s and is in used vintage condition. See photos for other details.
