Here is a French late 19th century Delphin Massier majolica jug in the form of a black spotted begging pig. Painted with a pale pink ground and gray trotters. The curly tail that leads up to the handle is sponge ware decorated with a mind pink colour. He has five black spots to the body. The jug measures 10 1/2 inches high. Marked to the base with black painted signature Delphin Massier, cis, Vallauris.
CONDITION: There is a paint flake to the pigs nose as in picture 5, another paint flake to one of the back legs as in picture 6 and a paint flake to its tail as in picture 7. Otherwise it is in good condition. No chips, cracks or restoration.
