Artist Signed Burnished Sgraffito Patterned Black Pottery Hand Built Plate 8"

A very nice artist plate, hand built and blackened fired.  Is painted with a light color and a dark color with intricate sgraffito design.  Heavy and thick plate.  It is all black on the back (excuse the two photo light reflections that you see).  In very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks.  There are surface scratches throughout the back.  Signed by artist.  I couldn't make out the name, "George ....".  If anyone knows anything more about this plate, I'd like to hear from you.  Measures 8" diameter and stands 1 1/4" H.
