One lot 250 BLUE LED's. Made by Agilent/HP, probable part number QLMP-LB99 / HLMP-LB99.
Unused, New Old Stock parts from the original bag.
These are Average Intensity BLUE LED's in the smaller 3.6mm package (slightly larger than the standard 3mm package).
They measure 0.145" (3.68mm) round at the base but then have a slight oval shape. The base is straight, not flanged. They are ~0.26" high (6.6mm) with two leads of length ~0.9" long (spaced 0.10" apart).
They are partially diffused (not a point source but not a totally uniform diffused appearance either). They are nice run of the mill BLUE LED's suitable for most experimenter or commercial applications. If you want a more intense higher efficiency type, i have some similar sized ones listed for a slightly higher price. But these are perfectly good nice LED's.
The pics show one being illuminated using a 330-ohm current-limiting resistor at 5V, 4V and 3V. They won't light up at much lower voltage than that.
At 5V, the Forward Voltage Drop was measured to be ~3.06V (If ~= 5.88ma). At 12V (no pic), the Forward Voltage Drop was measured to be ~3.74V (If ~= 8.23ma).
These are =identical= to another listing i have which are on paper tape - these are loose.
