Utah Picture Jasper - Polished

 Picture jasper comes from Grand County, Utah - found in the Brushy Basin Member in the Morrison Formation. These Pseudomorph's are from around the same Jurassic Time Period, about 140 million years old.

These nodules come from the same formation as dino bone, barite pseudomorphs and petrified wood. The jasper nodules are the only ones to show pictures by the way the silica infiltrated the cracks in the nodule. 

 Ancient Art has deep red fortification agate running throughout and a bit of white with light gray matrix.

Great addition to your collection.

Measurements are about 2 3/4 inch by 2 3/4 inch on polished face 2 1/4 inch at thickest, weighs 12.8oz.
