FINE CHINESE PORCELAIN BOWL
FEMALE YIJI GEISHA COURTESAN BOWL WITH LUCKY AUSPICIOUS BATS
LATE QING DYNASTY OR EARLY REPUBLIC ERA

Beautiful Chinese bowl with a very unique composition.  The female courtesan figure with a downcast solemn look and the overall pattern exhibits cubist and fauvist elements.  Although Chinese, the artist could have been influenced by late 19th century and early 20th century western artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Braque or Van Dongen.  There is a geometrically designed artistic pattern in this work that gives quite a strong impression.

Condition is excellent for its age.  Dimensions are diameter of 6 3/8 inches by 3 inches in height.
