The Starfish is related to the Sea Urchin. The typical Starfish has five arms arranged in the shape of a star, but some species may have as many as 50 arms. The Starfish lives in the shallow tidal pools feeding on worms, scallops, small fish and various crustaceans. The Starfish moves slowly, almost imperceptibly across the sea floor gleaning food from the rocks as it travels over them. The Starfish is also known for its ability to regenerate limbs severed by predators. One species can regenerate an entire animal from just one half an inch (1 cm.). Pendant is made from lead-free pewter and measures 1.25” both ways. It is strung with a cord and mounted on a card with the above narrative on it.
