Description: This is a complete or full ticket in two pieces with matching numbers for general admission in Chicago Stadium on December 15, 1946 for the game between the Chicago Stags and Pittsburgh Ironmen.  The two pieces were once glued in an album so there is heavy paper loss on reverse sides as well as some staining on the front sides.  This is a fantastic piece of early professional basketball memorabilia because the 1946-47 BAA season is considered the first in NBA history.  The 1946-47 Chicago Stags led by Andy Phillip and Max Zaslofsky finished first in the Western Division and made it to the BAA (Basketball Association of America) Finals.  The 1946-47 Pittsburgh Ironmen were a one year franchise which is most noted for having Pete Maravich’s father, Press Maravich, on their roster.  According to the PSA Ticket population reports, no examples of this ticket or ticket stub have ever been encapsulated.
