Unused Vintage Japanese Matching Mofuku Zori & Clutch Set for Formal or Solemn Occasions
This is one of a huge lot of vintage Japanese bags and other items that we have acquired. They were stock from a shop in Kyoto that sold kimono accessories. Most were made in the 1990’s.
This is a formal set for use when wearing a kimono for occasions such as funerals or other solemn ceremonies but is not limited to such purposes. The bag is made of silk or silk-like fabric and zori are made of the same material. The zori have leather soles and are of good quality.
This set has never been used and is in perfect new condition in its original box. The box is in excellent condition except for one corner where it appears a sticker was removed.
The bag has a snap fastener and is fully lined with 2 internal pockets and one outer pocket. There is a hinged chain so that can be used as either a clutch or a handbag…
The Zori are a standard Japanese size 23cm, however in Japan, your foot is not expected to necessarily ‘fit’ in the Western sense and it is considered optimal to overhang the heal by a few centimeters.
