It is chrome plated die-cast metal then highly polished before chroming. The magnetic base has 10 - 32 threads, and the traffic light viewer screws into this base. This allows for many mounting positions on your dash. The bottom of the base has a layer of protective plastic to minimize any marring to the paint. The magnet is very strong, and holds the weight of the viewer quite well. The base measures 1.750" (44mm) in diameter and the height is .875" (22 mm).  Looks great on your classic or hot rod car and truck.
