As a visual tribute to life in its many forms on earth, this rectangular design depicts six serpents. Three serpents face left and three face right, yet the simultaneously define each other. This is a symbol of communal interdependence, it represents both sides of humanity.

This Northwest Coast Native American Salish print comes from a small edition of 50 and has been created by Native artist Leslie Sam. It measures 19.5" x 20" and is signed by the artist, Leslie Sam (aka lessLIE).

lessLIE began studying Coast Salish art in 1995 while working on his undergraduate degree in First Nations Studies at Malaspina University College. He is currently working on his Masters of Arts within the Interdisciplinary Studies Program at the University of Victoria. His main influence has been Susan Point, but he was first encouraged and inspired by his cousin, Joe Wilson. Other immediate influences: Manual Salazar, Maynard Johnny Jr, Shaun Peterson and Luke Marston.
