1037g Gold/Silver electrum in Crystalline quartz
From a large cobble break(about 30lbs) this is one of the outer chunks
Multiple pieces from this cobble had gold and/ or dendridic electrum wires/veins
The quartz from this cobble is very clean and clear multi crytalline form ranging from granular to small pebble sizes and is translucent. White, vibrant. Almost UV looking. Very delicate. Specimens from this cobble to be listed were weighed photoed and wrapped up for storage immediately after.
One face is a thick black gold band consistent with electrum
The opposite side has a long fracture with dendridic metalic wires running through and is likely trapping more electrum inside judging by how the rest of the cobble broke
Several specimens from the immediate area(in with/right next to) have been thoroughly tested
This is the 3rd cobble of this size found in that immediate area, just below the surface.
While not absolutely loaded with metals, the specific gravity has been 3.0 to as high as 6.0 in some similar specimens.
This area has produced countless specimens and is the source where all my listed material has been found
I should note that these specimens were found in the ground away from any road or water source in the wooded area of a housing track and likely has never been touched.
I have run.countless test and unearthed tons of material bucket by bucket and handled all of it myself.
Specimen measures about 4×3×3inches
Found on private land near a known locality(see map pic for approximate area)
Here are updated test results from other similar specimens from the area
Conductivity- when tested with a multimeter set at 2000 ohms, connected areas read stable as low as 200 ohms depending on the make up of suspected metal
Streak/Acid- many specimens from the area streak pale gold to gold and have stood strong under 22k acid when the streak is more gold than pale. All streaks hold under 14k acid
Specific gravity- specimens like this one typically range between 3.0 to 4.0. This one was significantly higher at 6.0
Heat- similar looking inclusions on other specimens have been tested with a torch and proved to be unaffected. Others specimens have been smelted(though Im still trying to get the hang of it), leaving gold and silver streaks in the slag. Working on separating it further
Hardness/malubility- when scrubbed or poked with a knife, specimens do not flake or break where suspected gold/silver is seen
All rock and mineral specimens ship USPS Priority Mail for free
Returns are to be paid by seller. Please do not send the any specimens back on your own. If a return is necessary, request a return, and a label will be sent to you promptly
Returning altered specimens will result in a refund deduction of 50%.
