Shipibos are an ethnic group from the Peruvian Amazon, located on the banks of the Ucayali River.
They have a rich and complex cosmology which have inspired their artistic traditions, such as aya shamanism are still practiced.
Shipibo icaros are sacred healing songs chanted by Amazonian shamans during plant medicine ceremonies. they use a specialized, visionary spirit-language rather than standard conversational Shipibo. The melodies carry energetic intent, geometric visual patterns, and plant communications that resist direct word-for-word translation.
