Details:
Beautiful vintage carved shell brooch featuring a charming tiki-style figure with intricate facial details, decorative openwork and striking red-coloured eyes.
Crafted from wonderfully iridescent abalone-style shell, displaying gorgeous flashes of emerald green, turquoise, deep blue and purple as it catches the light.
The figure features a stylised expressive face, large circular eyes, carved detailing and a compact seated pose.
The design has a lovely Polynesian and Māori-inspired appearance, making it an interesting piece for collectors of vintage shell jewellery, tiki-inspired accessories and unusual pre-loved treasures.
Finished with a metal pin fitting on the reverse.
Condition:
Good vintage condition overall, with some age-related wear and imperfections.
There is a small crack or split visible towards the lower edge of the shell. The brooch fitting is attached to the reverse with visible adhesive.
