Beautiful vintage Hartstone USA stoneware salad / dessert plate featuring a colorful spongeware-style fall leaf design in rich shades of burgundy, forest green, warm brown, and dusty rose against a creamy ivory background.

The decoration has a wonderful handmade quality, combining sponged color with detailed botanical leaf impressions that preserve the veins and natural textures of the leaves. The overlapping colors and large-scale design give the plate an appealing folk-art and studio-pottery look that is especially well suited to fall and Thanksgiving décor.

The underside is clearly marked HARTSTONE USA and also bears a small hand-applied decorator’s mark or initials.

Hartstone is known for American-made stoneware and hand-decorated designs. Based on the backstamp and overall style, I believe this piece dates approximately to the 1980s–1990s.

Measurements: Approx. 7.75" diameter
Weight: Approx. 12 oz.

The plate is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or crazing noted. There may be some light surface wear and utensil marks consistent with normal use, but it continues to display beautifully. The glaze remains glossy and the autumn colors are rich and attractive.

A wonderful piece for a Hartstone collection, spongeware collection, fall or Thanksgiving tablescape, farmhouse kitchen, cottage décor, or botanical display.
