Original WWII-era U.S. military M1910 pick mattock manufactured by Diamond Calk and clearly dated 1944. The head is prominently stamped:

This combination entrenching tool has the wide mattock blade on one side and curved pick on the opposite side. The steel head retains a strong original profile with a very clear military maker/date stamp.

The wood handle shows substantial age and use with remnants of old green paint still visible. The aged handle and steel patina give the tool a strong original military appearance.

Era: World War II, 1944.

CONDITION

Good original vintage condition with expected wear from age and use. Steel shows surface oxidation, staining, patina, scratches and previous cleaning. The mattock edge and pick show normal wear but retain their overall shape. The Diamond Calk 1944 marking is exceptionally clear.

The wood handle has had lots of previous use including scratches, discoloration, finish loss, grinding marks, wear, and remnants of old green paint. There is age-related wear and checking to the wood, particularly around the ends. Head appears firmly mounted.

No restoration or refinishing has been done to the handle.
