This watch is not an original vintage piece.

It is a custom-built watch based on an original Soviet Raketa mechanical movement, caliber 2609 (21 jewels), which was produced in the USSR.

However, the dial, hands, case, crystal, strap, and other external components are modern replacements. The watch was assembled recently using a serviced vintage movement combined with contemporary parts.

Because of this, the watch cannot be dated to a specific decade or year of original factory production as a complete item. Only the movement itself dates back to the Soviet era.

 "Yes, acrylic crystals can be prone to scratching, but unless the scratch is very deep, it can be polished out with Polywatch. Acrylic crystals are very durable. Sapphire crystals are very scratch-resistant but can shatter if met with a sharp impact. This is one reason why the Omega Speedmaster with the hesalite (acrylic/plastic) crystal was selected for space flights. When a sapphire crystal shatters, it generates microscopic shards that can play havoc with instruments on board a spacecraft. Acrylic crystals do not have this problem."
