Halston black silk satin shirt dress VTG 1980s bias cut L XL

Made in Italian black silk charmeuse with the shiny side inside – such a lovely feeling – from a Halston sewing pattern – he gave his designs to McCall’s sewing pattern company while he was at the top of his game.

The bodice is in one piece with the sleeves, cut on the bias. The skirt on the straight of the grain. That gives the bodice and sleeves a very flowing quality while the skirt behaves properly. When a dress buttons down the front the buttons’ weight will cause a bias cut to distort, but with the straight of the grain in play, it hangs nicely. Narrow sash in the same cloth.

Hanger loop at the nape. Excellent set-in pockets Very full fit. Made by a professional so the inside is finished with French seams – no raw edges.

Waist is 29” unstretched and goes nicely to 35”. About 32” across at the underarms but will shapeshift. 52” around the hips and hem. 28” from waist to hem 17” to 20” from neck to waist, depending on who is wearing it.

I provide all this information so that you can get it and love it, so I hope you use it. Please ask any questions – that helps me write better listings.

The sewing form measures 38-30-39, FYI.

I am not a professional seller. I do this because I am weak and must have money for shopping. So please check your measurements and understand that I hope to avoid returns – tho I certainly will accept them, and, unless if I've really made a mistake in the factual portion of the description, I will ask you to share the shipping costs. I avoid future relations with people who send things back worn or because they didn’t read the description.

Please keep in mind that eBay keeps up to 20 percent of each purchase for letting me – and you – use this wondrous platform. And that the post office doesn’t ship free for me or eBay; eBay promotes promising it because people think they’re getting a deal with ‘free shipping.’

I also shop here on eBay and try to behave like so many of the great sellers and buyers I've had the privilege and good luck to deal with.

Ask me anything!
