A lovely vintage English pigskin leather pocket wallet dating to 1951, made in a gorgeous warm orange-tan colour and finished with hallmarked gilt sterling silver corner protectors by Frederick Wich, London.

Made in England from real pigskin, the wallet has a beautifully textured finish and a traditional tab fastening. Inside are two dedicated banknote compartments and two vertical slip pockets, ideal for cards, receipts, tickets or other small essentials, together with a matching taffeta-lined interior.

Although over 70 years old, its simple and practical design still lends itself perfectly to modern-day use. Choosing a quality vintage wallet also gives a beautifully made existing piece a new life rather than buying newly manufactured leather goods.

The wallet displays genuine age and use-related wear, including general surface marks and scratches to the leather. The gilt sterling silver corner mounts also display surface scratches, general wear and some loss to the gilt finish, together with wear to the leather around the mounts. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description.

A wonderfully usable piece of 1950s British craftsmanship, combining warm pigskin leather with the added interest of period hallmarked gilt silver mounts.
