Vintage, probably 1960s but looks unused so 'as new' large woven sewing box, made of wood / bamboo and plastic tubes. The plastic tubes are in red and white. It has two carrying loops, one on either side. The underside of the box and the interior wooden insert tray have a patterned paper covering and are marked 'foreign'. Inside the box, it is lined with a dark rosy pink satin type fabric with a sunburst pleat above the padded area for pins and needles. This padded area looks like it has never been used. There is a wooden lift out tray and a larger compartment underneath. It's a really lovely item and rare to find in this apparently unused, almost 'as new' condition, the colours bright and the lining in great condition, no pinholes. It has a woven top rather than the more usual fabric top. There may be a little house dust on the top and here and there but that can be gently hoovered out. As with any vintage item, it may need a little airing after being closed for so many years but seems OK to me.
