Antique Native American Indian.
Please consider this classic example of spoon
styled as earliest example of a Navajo silver tourist spoon (Circa 1910).
Beautiful sterling silver spoon made to look as handmade from silver ingot
(hand wrought) by Navajo Indian featuring figural swastika, (good luck sign of
Indians) on top of handle. Below it has image of full figure standing Indian
warrior or chief holding a spear and Navajo style decorations down the handle.
In the bowl it has bow with arrow, another swastika and has design all around
the bowl. It is made to look like early punched Navajo design and hand
hammered, cut, chiseled and filed condition is rudimentary as expected without
breaks or repairs. The spoon is ready to highlight any Native American spoon
collection. Original Indian silversmiths of this time period, around 1900, used
silver ingots, American or Mexican silver coins so it is not exactly .925
sterling, it is .900 pure silver. The Native American spoons are an important
part of American Folk Art. Measures 5-1/2” inches (141 mm), weighs 16.6
grams and condition of the spoon is excellent. Shipping on multiple purchases
is gladly combined. Please see other, some rare, collector spoons I'm currently
listing.
