The Made in Japan Godzilla Stratocaster Blue is a special model born from a collaboration between the globally popular *Godzilla* tokusatsu monster movie franchise—marking its 70th anniversary since the original 1954 release—and the Fender Stratocaster, which also celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2024.
Its design incorporates elements inspired by the power and allure of Godzilla, the reigning "King of the Monsters."
The instrument features an alder body topped with myrtlewood, dyed a deep blue and finished with a gloss coat to evoke Godzilla's imposing, weighty presence. It sports a "Modern C" shaped neck with 22 medium-jumbo frets; a bold Godzilla logo adorns the fretboard near the 12th fret, creating a striking visual impact.
Meticulous attention has been paid to the sound as well; pressing the Tone 2 knob activates a built-in distortion circuit. It also features the "G.L.O" (Gain-Linked Optics) mechanism (patent pending), where the intensity of the light changes in response to the amount of distortion. This causes the Godzilla dorsal fin design on the pickguard to glow, with the brightness increasing alongside the distortion level.
This feature captures—through both sound and light—the moment just before an enraged Godzilla unleashes its atomic breath, delivering a powerful sensory experience.
Furthermore, the guitar is equipped with "Custom Godzilla Humbucking" pickups developed specifically for this model, delivering an overwhelming, heavy sound.
With details like all-black hardware, this is a truly unique instrument crafted with uncompromising attention to every aspect.
