A rare, miniature late Qing Dynasty (19th century) hand-carved Chinese footed display stand plinth, measuring 4 7/8" x 3.75". This low-profile scholar's desk piece features an intricate, reticulated central panel showcasing a mythical Qilin (Kylin) leaping through scrolling auspicious clouds. In keeping with traditional artisan rules, the delicate openwork carving features vibrant gold gilt leaf over a rich vermilion red lacquer ground, set into a dark black-lacquered wood base with bracket feet. Side cartouches feature stylized auspicious "吉祥" (Good Fortune) blessings.

Condition: Solid, structurally complete antique condition with an authentic aged patina. Displays expected surface wear and gilt thinning. Note structural age lines: a vertical expansion hairline is present in the reticulated background elements, and a split crack runs through the outer black border frame corner (see close-up photos). The underside shows minor historic lacquer touch-up.
