The black conductor connects to the brass terminal, the white conductor connects to the silver terminal and the green grounding conductor connects to the green grounding screw.

Choose Side Wiring or Rear Quick Connect
The side-wire method accepts 12–14 AWG copper conductors. Form the stripped copper into a clockwise hook beneath the correct terminal screw, keeping excess bare copper away from the steel mounting strap.
The rear quick-connect method is intended for 14 AWG solid copper conductors only. Insert the straight stripped conductor into the correct opening associated with its terminal side. Do not use stranded wire or 12 AWG conductors in the rear quick-connect openings.

Break-Off Plaster Ears for Installation Flexibility
The two outer circular metal ears on the mounting strap can be removed when required by the installation condition. Their narrow connection points allow the installer to identify the intended break-off locations.
Keep the ears in place unless removal is necessary for the finished wall surface, electrical box position or selected mounting arrangement. Do not confuse the outer plaster ears with the center mounting screw or the main steel bridge.

Check the wall plate’s opening style, gang count and device arrangement before purchase. Toggle-switch openings and conventional rounded duplex openings are not the same as decorator-style openings.
Confirm Electrical-Box Clearance Before Installation
The receptacle measures approximately 4.06 inches in overall height, 1.29 inches in overall width and 0.98 inches in device depth. Overall height includes the complete upper and lower steel mounting structure.
The depth measurement runs from the front surface of the receptacle to the rearmost housing. Measure the available electrical-box space and account for conductor bend radius before installation.
