Ive had this football for over a year. My plan was to send it to get it authenticated. First i sent it to California to get bladder replaced and restrung. The owner of the company called me after he received it and told me he couldn't replace the bladder because its not a normal air tube. After they filled the ball they capped it off. He said he'd have to cut the ball and wasnt going to do that. He said his company has restored over 30,000 footballs but never like this one. When i got it back I thought of cutting the strings and fill with some sort of stuffing, either Styrofoam beads or pillow stuffing, but then I'd have to find someone to restoring it. Ive decided to sell the ball and let the new buyer complete the process. The ball says "To Chuck October 13, 1934". There are about 40 signatures. Most popular is Coach Gil (Gilmour) Dobie and Captain Walt Spitzer. I pretty sure the ball is from the late 1920s. Unfortunately I  don't know much about this football. I picked it up at a local estate sale. Noone from the family was there. The more research I tried to do the more questions I had. My main question was "Who was Chuck" and why did the team sigh a ball for him after a game with Syracuse that they lost. I tried to find a newspaper clipping from the day after the game but couldn't find one on my Google search. I was hoping maybe it would explain the ball dedication. I did find that one of Cornells greatest players Charlie (Chuck) Barrett was badly wounded in WW1 and died from his injuries in 1924. Possibly this was tribute for his family on the 10th year anniversary of his death or a 20th anniversary of their great 1914 season. For now its just Coincidence because I could tie any of it together. The ball is signed in black ink pen and each signature is different so I definitely wasnt just signed by the ball boy. Im almost positive Coach Gilmour Dobie signed this ball because if someone else would have wrote his name they would have just put coach dobie and not wrote everything out. Shipping is $12.
