A  rare 1960s Formula 1 35mm Negative Photograph
Description

A Rare Formula 1 35mm Negative Photograph

Original 35mm black-and-white negative from the 1966 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, featuring John Surtees driving the Ferrari 312 through the legendary Eau Rouge.

A superb high-speed period image capturing the only man ever to become World Champion on both two wheels and four. Driving Ferrari's new 3-litre V12-powered Ferrari 312, Surtees claimed pole position, set the fastest lap, and mastered the treacherous wet conditions to win one of the most dramatic Belgian Grands Prix in Formula 1 history.

The 1966 Belgian Grand Prix is remembered as one of the defining races of the era, with torrential rain, multiple first-lap accidents and the daunting original 14 km Spa-Francorchamps circuit testing drivers to their absolute limits. Surtees' victory remains one of Ferrari's finest performances of the 1960s.

The negative offers excellent clarity and will scan or enlarge to much higher resolutions while retaining outstanding period detail.

Condition: Very Good – from a professionally stored archive and carefully preserved for decades. As expected with an original 60-year-old photographic negative, there are very minor age-related imperfections consistent with its age and use. These are minimal and do not detract from the quality or historical significance of the image.

This sale is for the original 35mm negative only, not a digital copy or digital image.

Ideal for Formula 1 collectors, Ferrari enthusiasts, John Surtees fans, Spa-Francorchamps collectors, and historic motorsport enthusiasts.
