Renault FT light tank – one of the foundations of the Polish Army’s armoured forces, from their beginnings to 1939.

Renault FT Light Tank in Polish Army Service

The French Renault FT was one of the most important tanks in the early history of the Polish Army’s armoured forces. The first examples arrived with the Polish Army formed in France and subsequently served in Poland during the Polish-Soviet War. Although increasingly obsolete during the interwar years, the Renault FT remained part of the Polish military inventory and was still present in Polish service at the outbreak of World War II in 1939.

This richly illustrated volume presents the Renault FT with particular emphasis on its service in the Polish Army, its variants, armament and military use. Numerous illustrations provide a detailed visual record of this iconic light tank and its long association with Polish armoured forces.
