Vintage 1905 Seth Thomas Grade 159 Pocket Watch

Offered is a Seth Thomas Grade 159, 18-size, 15-jewel manual wind pocket watch manufactured in 1905, serial number 211442. This movement is housed in a Fahys No. 1 Coin Silver open-face case.

A standout feature is the attractive locomotive porcelain dial, a desirable railroad-themed design signed "Seth Thomas." The movement is finely finished with striped damaskeening and an engraved balance cock.

Cosmetic Condition

  • Porcelain locomotive dial displays well with visible hairlines/crazing from age.
  • Original blued hands appear present.
  • Coin silver case has typical scratches, light dings, and handling wear consistent with age.
  • Hinges and case threads appear intact.
  • Please examine all photos carefully for overall condition.

Mechanical Condition

  • Winds smoothly.
  • Movement is currently running.
  • Balance oscillates freely.
  • Timekeeping accuracy has not been tested over an extended period, so servicing is recommended for regular use.
