Monterey Pop 1967 Festival program authentic original first printing. The program measures 8 1/4 X
10 3/4" and has 80 pages filled with mesmerizing images (see photos for some of them) from a very
special place in time.

The Monterey Pop Festival is the one that started it all and influenced just about every concert producer,
including Woodstock's Michael Lang.

There were several breakout performances at Monterey Pop including the Jimi Hendrix Experience's
stellar American debut, Otis Redding's spellbinding set and Big Brother and the Holding Company
featuring Janis Joplin's jaw dropping performance and The Who's first major US performance as well
as Ravi Shankar's.

Some of the other artists who appeared at Monterey were the Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead,
Quicksilver Messenger Service, Country Joe and the Fish, Moby Grape,The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield,
Simon and Garfunkel, Canned Heat, the Electric Flag, the Butterfield Blues Band, Booker T. & the M.G.'s,
amongst others.

The Beatles beside being very supportive to the festival and were rumored to be playing the
festival contributed artwork specifically for the festival that’s on a full page Paul McCartney
also recommended to the festival organizers that they include The Who and the Jimi Hendrix
Experience  be added to the line up. Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones who flew over from
England with the Experience and served as an emcee for the Experience.

Pete Townshend of The Who and Jimi had issues on who was going to follow who. They
decided on a coin toss which Jimi lost and promised to pull out all stops during his performance
which ended with him sacrificing his guitar by setting it ablaze and leaving the audience stunned
by the spectacular performance they just witnessed.

Otis Redding’s riveting performance before a mostly white audience, Monterey would be Otis’s last
major concert performance before his untimely death on December the 10th of that year at 26 years
old.

I could go on forever about this Monterey Pop Festival.....

The program is not in mint condition, if you find one that is, it's more than likely a reprint. There's
some wear to the spine and a some page bends on the corners and scattered light creasing here and
there.....I'm being real picky here, the condition of this program is really nice and I would grade it
Excellent-, which is very hard to find one in this condition.

This program has a Best Offer option, so one can make an offer that they feel comfortable with.

Feel free to email me with any questions and any additional information that
you may need.

don't have the time to list the items and they're more than likely going to be
sold elsewhere.

that I’ve been doing this now, from all over the world ....That are now friends!
