New Le Mans 2018 Giclee Print by Watts!
The 86th Le Mans 24 Hours, run on 16–17 June 2018, ended one of endurance racing’s longest waits. After nineteen previous attempts and a string of agonising near-misses — most famously the #5 TS050’s heartbreak on the final lap in 2016 — Toyota Gazoo Racing finally conquered La Sarthe. The pole-sitting #8 TS050 Hybrid of Fernando Alonso, Sébastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima took the flag after 388 laps, two clear of the sister #7 of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and José María López. With Audi and Porsche absent from LMP1, the win marked Alonso’s first Le Mans triumph and a step towards the unofficial Triple Crown. Nicholas Watts’ giclee captures the moment in fine detail.
