Handmade Prairie Sun Bonnet Blue Floral Cottagecore Grannycore Americana Adult
Bonnets were practical necessities for women residing and working on rural farm and ranch lands. Worn in order to protect their skin and head from sun exposure during daily outdoor chores and agricultural labor. Many referred to these as prairie or work bonnets.
Features:
- The crown covers the head and neck. This is the large main body piece that balloons out to cover the back of the head. Features a tie (string) to tie to help better fit the neck area.
- The stiffened brim (or sometimes called visor) shields the face from the sun. This handmade bonnet features covered reinforced interfacing (possibly cardboard) that projects outward to shade the face.
- The fabric ties (strings) are used to secure it under the chin. This bonnet features ties that are sewn to each side of the brim to allow a nice tie under the chin or to allow bonnet to hang down the back.
- White eyelet edging or ruffle is included along the edge of the entire bonnet.
