Antique Farnell Wilfred From ‘Pip Squeak & Wilfred’ Bunny Rabbit Soft Toy Bear Pal C.1920-30s
‘Pip, Squeak and Wilfred’ were a dog, penguin and rabbit who featured in a Daily Mirror comic strip in the 1920s.
Golden and beige mohair fur, clear and black glass eyes with remains of painted backs, horse hair whiskers, jointed arms, seated upright, non-wired ears, straw filled.
Height 28cm/11” to tip of ears approx. Height to top of head 18cm/ 7”.
Well loved condition with balding and discolouration overall, minor scuffing to eyes and paint loss to eye backs, some repairs to nose and forehead, metal frame poking through tip of one paw and visible at tops of arms, small hole to tip of one foot, a couple of small stitched repairs to crotch, stitches coming apart a little at seam to top of one arm.
Arm joints in working order.
