Description
This chrome postcard features a stunning sunset view over Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada - known as the Land of The Sleeping Giant. The silhouette of the Sleeping Giant (Nanabijou) formation is visible across the water under dramatic orange and golden skies. The back includes the legend of Nanabijou, explaining how Thunder Cape, part of Sibley Peninsula, resembles a sleeping giant according to Ojibway Indian lore. The giant lies in the waters of Thunder Bay where he will forever be seen 18 miles offshore, his body stretching 6½ miles with folded arms 1100 feet above the surface. Photo by Con. Stefurak.
