A purpose-designed 1RU mount that gives the Yeastar P520 a permanent, serviceable home in a 19" rack. The unit sits on a braced shelf behind a full-width front panel, with its face flush in the cut-out window — status LEDs stay fully visible, nothing protrudes, and the rack front stays clean.
Supplied as a flat-pack kit in glass-fibre reinforced ABS. Choose shelf on the left or shelf on the right to suit your cabinet layout.
A single rack unit leaves only 41 mm of panel height to brace a 162 mm cantilever, which rules out the conventional diagonal strut. Instead, the two shelf side walls run full height where they meet the panel and taper to a 9 mm rear lip, working as tapered beams rather than struts.
Two details make the difference in service:
— calculated stress at the shelf root is approximately 2.9 MPa against a material yield near 45 MPa, a safety factor of roughly 15.
Comms cabinets run warm, and a passively cooled PBX warms its own shelf. PLA softens from around 60 °C and creeps under sustained load, which is how a shelf ends up quietly sagging months after installation.
Glass-fibre reinforced ABS has a heat deflection temperature near 100 °C, minimal creep under long-term load, and roughly two and a half times the stiffness of PETG. The glass fibre also keeps the long flat panel sections dimensionally stable during printing.
The shelf floor and side walls are ventilated to suit the P520's passive cooling. Two slots are provided for a retention strap, with cable tie points behind the unit.
Select which side of the rack the P520 sits on. The two versions are exact mirrors of one another and dimensionally identical — the choice is purely about cabinet layout and where the rest of your equipment lives.
Four printed components, flat-packed:
Approximately 20 minutes with a hex key. The panel halves butt together and are pulled straight by the rear splice plate; integral locating pegs set the alignment, so no measuring or shimming is required. Press twelve M3 nuts into their captive pockets, run the bolts in from the front where they seat flush in countersinks, and the assembly is complete.
Fasteners are not supplied. Most installers already hold M3 stock, and excluding it keeps the kit price down.
