0.53 gram piece of Berthoud, CO monomict Eucrite Achondrite meteorite. This 2004 single stone recovery had a tkw of only 960 grams. The slice taken from the interior is medium-grey in color and shows signs of brecciation and recrystallization. Eucrites are part of the HED group of meteorites which are believed to have originated from the asteroid Vesta about 4.5 billion years ago. The pictured slice measures approximately 18mm x 8mm x 1mm. The Berthoud meteorite is mentioned in the 'Meteoritical Bulletin" #94 (2008) and comes with a display case when purchase.
