Offered here is a remnant crusted 3.133 gram slice of Rafsa 005 Angrite Achondrite meteorite which was recovered in Algeria in 2023.  This rare type of igneous achondrite is believed to be among the oldest solid objects of the known solar system dating to about 4.6 billion years.  Angrites are composed mainly of the minerals: anorthite, olivine, augite. aluminum and calcium in varied amounts.  The pictured slice measures about 33mm x 22mm x 1mm.  The Rafsa 005 is mentioned in the "Meteoritical Bulletin" #112 (2024).
