This listing is for ONE collection of 25 different thin sections ranging in age from the Precambrian to Miocene. All represent different geological formations and there are a wide variety of lithologies present, many of which contain fossils. The labels on the slides show just some of the geological formations that are available for inclusion in the collection. 

The final make up of the collections depends entirely on the stock at hand at the time of purchase, but each set includes thin sections of deposits dating to the Precambrian, Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Mississippian, Pennsylvanian, Permian, Jurassic and Cretaceous. In addition there will also be a slide or two from the Cenozoic. If Triassic material is available it will also be included so that the entire Palaeozoic and Mesozoic are represented, but at the present time that cannot be guaranteed due to the scarcity of material of that age.

Each specimen is on a 1x3 inch slide. Please note these are not professionally made slides finished to a particular thickness, we simply work them until we think they look good.
