Lockheed F-16D Fighting Falcon Diecast Model
USAF 416th FLTS, #85-1572, Edwards AFB, CA, 2024
The F-16D Block 30B serial number 85-1572 was initially delivered to the 480th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Spangdahlem Air Base in 1987. In January 2001, while assigned to the 149th Fighter Squadron, 85-1572 was involved in a mid-air collision with F-16C 86-0228 during a night vision goggle training mission over Cape Charles, Virginia. Despite significant damage, both aircraft landed safely at Langley AFB. The D-model's wing was used to repair the C-model, and 85-1572 was transported to Hill AFB for extensive repairs, costing $1.2 million and taking over two years to complete .​ In June 2007, it was reassigned to the 416th Flight Test Squadron at Edwards AFB, where it continues to support developmental flight testing.
The model had been kept always in the BOX and comes with its stand so as to present it either static or in fly position. The approximate dimensions of the model are (LxW) : 8.3in x 5.3in or 21cm x 13.5cm
It is completely unopened and NEVER displayed (not even for photographs).
