The Piccadilly Murder opens with meek observer Ambrose Chitterwick spotting a companion slip something into an elderly lady’s coffee at a Piccadilly hotel. When her nephew is swiftly accused, Chitterwick’s doubts drive him into amateur sleuthing through tangled accounts and misleading clues to uncover the truth.

The spine is cocked, damaged along the edges. The covers are beginning to detach from the text block, there is a split between the front cover and the title page. The page edges are brown/greyed. the text block is generally clean, free of markings and foxing.

At the end of the book there is a complete list of all Penguin and Pelican Books issued to the end of 1938.
