This copper Paisa of Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir (1658–1707 AD) was struck at the historic Narnol Mint, one of the important provincial mints operating during the height of the Mughal Empire. The coin bears Persian inscriptions featuring the emperor's name and imperial titles along with the mint name, executed in the elegant calligraphic style characteristic of Aurangzeb's coinage. Copper Paisas served as the principal denomination for everyday commerce, reflecting the efficiency and widespread circulation of the Mughal monetary system. This example exhibits a pleasing brown patina with traces of natural green verdigris, well-defined legends, and a compact, evenly struck fabric typical of Narnol Mint issues.
